What age should we begin a sport performance training program?
Because NTC's programs have evolved through scientific knowledge and experience, we offer
development programs that suit athletes as young as 8 years of age as well as NHL professionals.
Due to the nature of our age appropriate testing guidelines, we identify deficiencies then design
age, skill and gender appropriate on-ice programs that suit each athletes requirements.
Simply review our on-ice calendar and select the date and location that works best for you.
Every athlete is different!
Does it make sense to train every athlete the same?
At NTC we understand each athlete has deficiencies and in order to properly train athletes, we
must identify these weaknesses, and then design individual development programs that suit each
player requirements.
At the outset of each off-ice program, NTC rigorously tests the athletes following the most
scientifically advanced testing protocols. To ensure each athlete understands their strengths
and weaknesses, an NTC performance specialist reviews their test scores and clearly communicates
the requirements and outlines of that athlete's off-ice development plan.
Each athlete is tested (see testing under programs) following age, skill and gender appropriate
protocols, to ensure specifity.
Due to the anatomical adaptations and rapid improvements made through efficient sport performance
training, regular testing is essential.
At NTC we test our athletes every 9-weeks through the season, and every 6-weeks through the
off-season.
Athletes devote countless hours to their training, and testing is their primary source of
motivation. In addition, regular testing results are vital to the training program, as
facilitators upgrade, change, or modify program protocols based on test results.
Is your athlete being tested regularly?
If not, how can you be sure their program is appropriate? |
