 C.A.P.S. and S.P.E.E.D. and On-Ice Conditioning Programs

Each training program will be run independently and will focus on age, gender and level specific training programs. Each training program will feature 18 C.A.P.S sessions and 18 S.P.E.E.D skating treadmill sessions, with on and off-ice testing at the prior to the first and on the last session. Test results will be forwarded to the parents and athlete. All schedules sessions must be booked on our on-line schedule.
30-40 minutes/sessions and prior to or following their S.P.E.E.D session, athletes will train 2 sessions/week, (to be booked at each athlete's discretion) with each session lasting 90-120 minutes. Players will be expected to come prepared in appropriate attire, as NTC's staff and C.A.P.S programs will prove to be a challenging experience for everyone in attendance. The program will focus on; linked strength capabilities, neurological strength refinement, total body explosiveness, ground based agility, linear and multi directional speed, active vs. reactive core strength, trunk flexion, extension, double and single leg dynamic balance, planned vs. unplanned agility training, and aerobic and anaerobic power training, to help create the skills required to outperform their competition, while avoiding injuries.
60 minutes/session and prior to or following their C.A.P.S Featuring Canada's first Woodway Skating Treadmill, and following NTC's S.P.E.E.D program, athletes will train 2 sessions/week. Every skating stride is watched under varying conditions from 2 feet away, which offers a great opportunity to identify weaknesses and inefficiencies within an athletes skating stride.
Society understands and relates to testing, the athletic domain is no different.
NTC establishes benchmarks and monitors training progress through each training programs. We understand the importance of athletic motivation and program design, and commit to creating individualized programs for each athlete.
Our testing protocol consists of; lower and upper body strength and power, and abdominal endurance.
Each athlete will be tested prior to program commencement and every 10-weesk thereafter. All test results will be returned with explanations provided for each athlete.
These sessions will be running concurrently and can commence throughout the summer. Athletes are urged to register early, and take advantage of early registration bookings.
Each 18 session training program can be booked at anytime throughout the summer. NTC's C.A.P.S and S.P.E.E.D program, develop athletic power, functional strength, agility, speed, and skating technique, resulting in superior on-ice performances.
